alright...its been a while...but this i had to write about.  so shane and shane came out with a new album on Aug 28.  i bought it anticipating the usual of good music. i am sorely disappointed. everything is synthesized, and at some points they sound like some emo pop band.  we dont find the traditional accentuation on acoustic guitars, nor do we hear the depth and span of their voices.  While there are harmonies throughout, they definitely dont pack the same punch as previous albums, probably because their voices are drowned out by all the "music".  The one song that somewhat redeems this album, is "Before the throne of God above", which only reinforces the idea that they need to put out a solid recording of hymns.

today is sabbath...i was walking around, looking for a place to eat when it suddenly dawned on me... there is no Jack in the Box in Philadelphia! i cant believe it! i was craving their delicious 2 tacos for $0.99... i love that soy meat, soaked in grease, seaping through the shell! it goes perfect with an ice cold coke!  o California... i miss you...

last week, i was downtown, wandering around on my sabbath, and i decided to stop in at Borders.  i walk up to the door and see a man coming towards me, leaving the store.  i reach the door first, so i pull it open.  as im pulling it open, another man comes up behind man #1, and practically pushes man #1 over.  i quickly pull the door open the rest of the way so man #1 and man #2 can get through.  my head shakes disapprovingly as my eyes watch man #2 run down the street... In my head im thinking, "how rude, two MEN, walking through and no one bothers to take the door from me...what is this world coming to...?"  Getting over myself, i turn back to go into the store when a security guard and a store employee come running through the door (which i'm still holding open).  "he's gone..." They look at each other...they look at me... and walk back in the store... at this point im still holding the door, piecing together what just happened and also wondering about that look the employees gave me... HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!?   so i guess i'm aiding criminals now... so much for fighting injustice and poverty...
